List of Comparisons of Popular Social Media Companies

Social media companies are ever present. Many of them do similar things in the broadest sense. I.e. they let us share posts of texts, images and videos. But this is just a starting point and thus an oversimplification. 

While they are different, but they also quite similar to each other in some ways.

The list below attempts to clarify these similarities (or causes even greater confusions).

The list is sorted in alphabetical order.

Instagram is the People magazine of social media. Or the Facebook of photos.

LinkedIn is the Facebook of professional networking.

Pinterest is the Google's visual (image and Video) search.

Snapchat is the WhatsApp of disappearing messages and filters.

TikTok is the YouTube of short videos.

Twitter is the CNN or SMS of social media.

WeChat is the WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube of China.

YouTube is the Netflix of social media.
